Jenny Gehrmann, Senior Department Administrator

Sinkoff 2018Jenny is the senior department administrator for both the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life and the Department of Jewish Studies. On board since 2018, she oversees the business functions for both units, which include handling all accounting and personnel tasks. She also assists in the planning and implementation of Bildner Center programs and manages the ticket sales for the Rutgers Jewish Film Festival. Jenny is in charge of the administration of the department, which includes course scheduling and the student scholarship awards process. She also maintains the websites for both the center and department.

Jenny has worked at Rutgers for more than a decade, beginning her journey in 2008 as an assistant catering manager for Rutgers Catering. She later served as department administrator supervisor for the Department of Kinesiology and Health. These positions enabled her to learn how the university runs and to interact with people from all sectors of the Rutgers community: administration, staff, faculty, students, and university donors.

According to Jenny, it is the people she meets, the relationships that she builds, the opportunities that she takes, and the experiences that she has at Rutgers, that makes her job exciting and fun every day.
