ACCESSING THE COURSE

Canvas Courses

You will receive an email notification from Canvas informing you that you have been added to the course site.

Go to the Canvas website (https://canvas.rutgers.edu) and click on the EMAIL LOGIN button to log in with the email address you used to register for the course.

        • If you are a NEW Canvas student, you will receive an email to complete your account creation. The link will take you to a “Welcome Aboard!” log-in screen where you will create your Canvas password. Once you set your password use the “Email Login” button on the Canvas home page to access the course.
        • If you are an EXISTING Canvas student, use the “Email Login” button on the Canvas home page to access your class. If you don’t remember your password, select the “Forgot Password?” option.
        • If you have previously accessed Canvas using a Rutgers NetID, use the “NetID Login” button on the Canvas home page and proceed accordingly.

NOTE: You should only have ONE account in Canvas. Your Canvas account must also contain the same email address you used when registering in ANCOR. You can verify the email addresses by logging into your Canvas account and visiting: https://rutgers.instructure.com/profile/settings.

AFTER YOU HAVE LOGGED INTO CANVAS, remember to accept the green course invitation at the top of the screen.

To find your course on future visits to Canvas, click the "Courses" link in the red, left- side toolbar, then click the course link.

Sakai Courses

You will receive an email notification from Sakai informing you that you have been added to the course site.

Go to the Sakai website (https://sakai.rutgers.edu) and click on the EMAIL LOGIN button to log in with the email address you used to register for the course.

        • If you are a NEW Sakai student, you will receive two email notifications:
            1. One message will inform you that a Sakai account has been created for you. It will include your guest log-in (the email address you used to register for the course) and an automatically generated password.
            2. The second message will inform you that you have been added to the course site.
        • Go to the Sakai website (https://sakai.rutgers.edu) and click on the EMAIL LOGIN button to log in.

How to Find the Course:

After you log in to Sakai, you can find the course one of two ways:

        1. At the top right of your screen, click the "Sites" link, then click the proper course title under the Projects heading.
        2. On the left navigation menu, click the Membership link, then click the course title link.
