The Bible presents history, law, theology, and more, but at its core the Bible constitutes the exquisite literature of ancient Israel. Rendsburg will offer insights into biblical prose and poetry as well as the grand sweep of these texts within ancient Jewish culture.

Gary A. Rendsburg, the Blanche and Irving Laurie Chair in Jewish History at Rutgers, is a specialist in Hebrew language and literature and a prolific biblical scholar. He is the author or editor of more than ten books, including most recently Solomon’s Vineyard: Literary and Linguistic Studies in the Song of Songs, co-authored with Scott B. Noegel.
